Georgia runoff elections preview

Georgia will hold runoff elections for both of its Senate seats today. If either Republican candidate wins, the Republican party will maintain control of the Senate. If both Democratic candidates win, the Democratic party will effectively control the Senate (with both parties holding 50 seats and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris serving as the tie-breaking vote in certain cases). While polls close at 7pm ET tonight, final results may not be available for several days.

More context: The runoff election is among the most highly anticipated elections in recent years, drawing record levels of fundraising and early voting.
