Venmo announced that it will allow users to buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrencies directly on its platform. The app will initially support four cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash). The announcement comes amid growing corporate, institutional, and individual adoption of cryptocurrencies, including recent initiatives from PayPal and BNY Mellon and the continued growth of Coinbase (which went public last week).
