Texas approves new abortion law
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law banning abortions after a fetal heartbeat has been detected (as early as six weeks) and allowing individual citizens to sue providers who violate the new rule. The legislation follows several abortion-related laws passed around the country (including a Mississippi law that the Supreme Court will review this year).
