A cyberattack targeting JBS, the world’s largest meat supplier, forced the company to partially suspend operations in the US, Canada, and Australia. JBS said it has made “significant progress” in resolving the ransomware attack and expects the majority of its plants to be operational on Wednesday. According to the White House, the FBI is actively investigating the attack and JBS believes the cyberattack originated from a criminal organization likely based in Russia.
More context: The ransomware attack follows a similar incident that shut down a major US oil pipeline for six days just three weeks ago.
