GM reopens five plants

General Motors announced plans to reopen five of its production facilities next month, following temporary shutdowns driven by the global semiconductor shortage. The ongoing shortage has led several major automakers to temporarily suspend production and prompted an executive order from President Biden calling for a review of US supply chains.
