Florida Gov. signs new election law

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new election bill into law yesterday, including a wide range of changes to voter ID requirements, mail-in ballots, and drop-boxes. Proponents of the law cited a desire to increase transparency and security, while critics suggested that the law will make it harder for people to vote (and challenged the law in federal court).

More context: The law is one of several voting-related bills that states have considered or passed, including the widely-covered law in Georgia and a new law approved by the Texas House yesterday.
