The EPA proposed a new rule to phase down the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), potent greenhouse gases often used in refrigerators, air conditioners, and other applications. The rule (proposed under the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020) would reduce HFC production and imports by 85% in the next 15 years. Here’s the full announcement.
