The DOJ opened an investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department, aiming to determine whether the department engages in a “pattern or practice” of unconstitutional or unlawful policing. The investigation was announced by Attorney General Garland following the guilty verdict in Derek Chauvin’s trial this week.
