Walmart announces pay increases for 425k workers
Walmart announced plans to increase the wages of 425k workers in its digital and stocking groups to $13-19 per hour. The retail giant employs 1.5M people in the US, and its starting minimum wage will remain at $11 per hour. The announcement comes as lawmakers review worker wages more broadly, including proposed legislation that would increase the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 per hour.
