US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced sanctions against several individuals and entities related to Iran's weapons programs, including the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The sanctions follow an executive order issued by President Trump yesterday that calls on the State Department to sanction any individual or entity that “materially contributes” to Iran’s weapons program.
