US and Iran begin indirect nuclear talks

The US and Iran will begin indirect talks related to the 2015 nuclear deal today. The US withdrew from the deal in 2018 and imposed a wide range of sanctions in the following years as part of a “Maximum Pressure” campaign. While the Biden administration has signaled a willingness to potentially rejoin the agreement, neither side has announced any formal progress on a deal.
