Uber announced that it raised $500M of new financing for its Uber Freight unit. The unit was launched in 2017 and aims to “simplify the movement of goods” by allowing shippers (i.e. trucking companies) to book shipments using its digital platform. Uber Freight generated $212M in Q2, and the investment (led by Greenbriar Equity) values the unit at $3.3B.
