European soccer clubs announce formation of Super League

12 of Europe’s most well-known soccer clubs announced plans to form the Super League, a 20-team league that aims to enable the “best clubs and players” to compete more frequently. The announcement faced significant criticism from several groups, including the  Union of European Football Associations (the administrative body for European soccer).
