SpaceX receives $900M in federal funding for rural internet

SpaceX was awarded nearly $900M in federal subsidies to bring high-speed internet access to rural areas through its satellite-powered Starlink service. The subsidies were allocated as part of the FCC’s $9B “Rural Digital Opportunity Fund” initiative, which aims to provide broadband internet access to over 10M rural Americans over the next decade (source).
