A federal judge blocked proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The rule changes (announced by the USDA last year) would have added work requirements and other restrictions for some recipients and limited states’ ability to waive those restrictions. The rule changes were challenged by 19 states, and the judge’s ruling found that the changes were “arbitrary and capricious.”
