The Senate confirmed Miguel Cardona as Secretary of Education yesterday (64-33). Cardona began his career as a fourth-grade teacher in Connecticut and most recently served as the state’s commissioner of education. His confirmation comes as state and local governments debate when (and how) to safely reopen schools amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
