Tech CEOs testify before Senate Commerce Committee

The CEOs of Facebook, Twitter, and Google are scheduled to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee today. The hearings are expected to focus on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which governs liability protections related to content posted by users on technology platforms. The hearings come amid intense scrutiny on social media platforms’ content moderation practices.

More context: President Trump issued an executive order in May calling for a review of Section 230, and the DOJ proposed draft legislation last month that would limit the liability protections.

Extra: Watch the testimony starting at 10am ET.
