Saudi activist released from jail

Saudi women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul was released from prison yesterday. She was initially sentenced to six years in jail in December after being detained in 2018 and convicted on national security-related charges. Critics of the decision (including Amnesty International) suggested the conviction was used as a means of repression.
