Russia receives two-year ban from international sporting events

The Court of Arbitration for Sport issued a 2-year ban on Russia from international sporting events, including the next two Olympics. The ban stems from a state-sponsored doping scandal (including tampering with lab data and planting false evidence) and reduces a 4-year penalty initially imposed by the World Anti-Doping Agency last year. Russian athletes (deemed free of scandal) will still be allowed to compete under a neutral flag.
