Russian coronavirus vaccine results

Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine was found to be 91.6% effective based on preliminary results from late-stage clinical trials published in the peer-reviewed medical journal The Lancet (source). While Russia previously faced criticism after approving the vaccine prior to Phase 3 trials, researchers noted today that “the outcome reported here is clear and the scientific principle of vaccination is demonstrated.” The vaccine is currently available in several countries including Russia, Argentina, Venezuela, the UAE, and Iran.
