NYC schools close for in-person instruction (again)

The New York City public school system announced that schools will shut down for in-person learning, with students shifting to remote learning starting today. The nation’s largest school system partially reopened with a hybrid learning model in October, but shut down again today after the positive coronavirus test rate in the city reached 3% (the city’s threshold for closing school buildings).

Extra: The decision comes as several cities and states reimpose certain restrictions due to a recent surge in coronavirus cases around the country, with the US reaching 11.5M cases, 250k deaths, and 4M recoveries yesterday.
