Nobel Prize in Physics awarded for black hole discoveries

The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to three researchers for discoveries related to black holes today. The first discovery showed that black holes “are a direct consequence of Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity.” The second found that “an invisible and extremely heavy object governs the orbits of stars at the center of our galaxy,” with a black hole being the only currently known explanation.
