US COVID cases reach lowest point since October

New US coronavirus cases reached their lowest point since October yesterday, with the seven-day average (85k) declining by over 65% since peaks in January. CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky noted that the trends are encouraging but urged continued caution as the case volume is still well-above levels observed for much of last year.
