NASA grants first-ever commercial spacecraft certification for human flight

NASA officially certified SpaceX’s spacecraft system for human flight this week, marking the first time that NASA has granted the approval for a commercial spacecraft. The system is comprised of the “Crew Dragon” capsule and “Falcon 9” rocket and is currently scheduled to carry four astronauts to the International Space Station this Saturday (following a successful test in May).
