Mass protests continue in Myanmar with nationwide strike

Mass protests continued in Myanmar today, with businesses and factories engaging in a nationwide strike in opposition to the ongoing military coup.  Meanwhile, Myanmar’s military junta has stepped up its efforts to quell the protests, including the use of deadly force (with three protesters reportedly being shot and killed over the weekend).

Extra: The military coup has drawn widespread international condemnation, with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calling on Myanmar’s military to “stop the repression immediately” in a speech today.
