MLB elevates Negro Leagues to Major Leage status

Major League Baseball announced that the “Negro Leagues” will be elevated to Major League status yesterday, “correcting a longtime oversight” in the game’s history. The designation will add records and statistics from ~3,400 athletes who played in the leagues between 1920 and 1948 (due to MLB segregation) to baseball record books.
