MLB moves all star game in response to voting law
Major League Baseball announced plans to relocate this year’s All-Star Game from Georgia in response to a new election bill passed last month. The sweeping legislation addresses a wide range of voting-related topics (explainer). Proponents (including Gov. Kemp) cited a desire to ensure elections are “secure, fair, and accessible.” Critics suggested that the legislation would make it harder to vote and may disproportionately impact certain voters (e.g. people of color).
