CPI increases five percent year-over-year in May

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 5% in May compared to the same period last year, marking the quickest pace of inflation as measured by the index since August 2008. The growth was driven in part by a 29% increase in energy prices and a 30% increase in used car and truck prices.
