Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah (91) died yesterday. Sheikh Sabah served as Kuwait’s foreign minister for nearly four decades before becoming the oil-rich Middle Eastern nation’s leader in 2006, and was widely lauded for his diplomatic efforts in the region. He will be succeeded by his brother, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
