The US economy added 638k jobs in October and the unemployment rate fell from 7.9% to 6.9%. The October tally came in ahead of economist expectations of 600k. Total nonfarm payrolls (i.e. jobs in the US economy) remain down 7% (or 10M) from pre-coronavirus levels in February.
