Japanese parliament selects new prime minister

Japan’s parliament formally selected Yoshihide Suga as the country’s new prime minister today. Suga was selected as the ruling party’s new leader on Monday, and will succeed Shinzo Abe (who announced his resignation due to ongoing health issues in August).
