US economy adds 49k jobs in January

The US economy added 49k jobs in January and the unemployment rate fell to 6.3%. While total nonfarm payrolls (i.e. jobs in the US economy) have partially recovered from a coronavirus-driven decline last year, they remain down over 6% from pre-coronavirus levels.
