Iran begins enriching uranium to higher purity

Iran began enriching uranium to 60% purity today after announcing plans to do so earlier this week (in response to an alleged attack on its Natanz nuclear facility). The increase marks the latest violation of the 2015 nuclear deal and brings the country’s enrichment level closer to weapons-grade (90%).
