Researchers in the UK announced plans to conduct a “human challenge” coronavirus study. The study, conducted in partnership with the UK government, will intentionally expose participants to the coronavirus in an effort to discover the smallest amount of the virus that can infect a patient and elicit an immune response. The study will ultimately aim to speed up the development of a vaccine and other potential treatments.
