House passes sweeping new election bill

The House passed a sweeping new election bill yesterday (220-210) in a near party-line vote. The bill covers a wide range of topics including partisan gerrymandering of congressional districts, voter access, election integrity and security, campaign finance, and ethics. The legislation is not expected to pass in the Senate, where it would require a 60-vote majority.
