House approves defense policy bill with 80% majority

The House passed a $740B defense spending and policy bill (335-78) yesterday. The annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes a wide range of defense-related measures, including a 3% pay raise for US troops. The legislation now moves to the Senate, with a vote expected as soon as this week.

Extra: President Trump said yesterday (via tweet) that he would veto the legislation if it does not terminate “Section 230” (which governs tech platform liability protections) and include other provisions. The House passed the legislation with an ~80% majority, which is above the two-thirds threshold required (in both chambers of Congress) to overrule a potential veto.
