GM announces plans to become carbon neutral by 2040

General Motors announced plans to become carbon neutral by 2040, including an “aspiration to eliminate tailpipe emissions” from new light-duty vehicles by 2035. The announcement (source) comes as the 112-year old automaker pushes more aggressively into the electric and autonomous vehicle space, including $27B of planned investment announced in November and the release of 30 new electric vehicles by 2025.
