National Intelligence Council releases global trends report

The National Intelligence Council released its Global Trends report yesterday, a quadrennial assessment of the key factors that will impact national security and the global geopolitical environment over the next 20 years. The report identifies four structural forces that will “shape the future” (demographics, the environment, economics, and technology) and five potential scenarios for the world in 2040.
