FDA approves remdesivir to treat hospitalized coronavirus patients

The FDA approved remdesivir to treat certain hospitalized coronavirus patients yesterday. The antiviral drug (made by Gilead Sciences) was approved for hospitalized coronavirus patients who are at least 12 years old and weigh at least 40kg (~88 pounds). The drug received emergency use authorization in May, and yesterday became the first coronavirus treatment to receive full FDA approval.
