FBI announces 170 cases opened related to attack on US Capitol

The FBI has now opened over 170 cases in relation to last week’s attack on the US Capitol. 70 individuals have been charged to date, with Acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin noting that he expects the total to grow “into the hundreds” in the coming weeks and months (watch).

Extra: Meanwhile, the FBI reportedly issued an internal bulletin this week warning of armed protests in all 50 state capitals and Washington DC in the days leading up to Inauguration Day.
