Facebook launched a large-scale press campaign criticizing Apple over iOS privacy changes this week. In a series of full-page ads in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Washington Post yesterday, Facebook alleged that Apple’s new policies (which require developers to ask users for permission to gather data and track them across multiple apps and websites) will make it more difficult for businesses to effectively target customers. Apple released a statement defending its decision, noting that the policies were adopted in an effort to “stand up for users” and provide more transparency on when their data is being collected and shared.
Extra: Facebook also said it would provide information in an ongoing antitrust lawsuit filed against Apple by Fortnite-maker Epic Games.
