DOJ seizes $1B of bitcoin linked to Silk Road

The Justice Department seized over $1B of bitcoin linked to the online black market “Silk Road,” representing the largest bitcoin seizure made by the US government to date. Silk Road was a dark web marketplace was used for a wide range of illicit activities (including drug trade) before being shut down by the FBI in 2013.
