Disney announces streaming subscriber figures and new content slate at investor day

Disney announced that its Disney+ streaming platform has grown to 87M subscribers since launching last November, reaching nearly half the size of Netflix. The company now has 137M subscribers across its streaming portfolio (which also includes Hulu and ESPN+) and noted that it expects to reach over 300M subscribers by 2024.
