Congress reconvened at ~8pm ET last night (after the Capitol building had been secured) and formally confirmed Joe Biden’s election victory. While a group of Republican lawmakers objected to results in several states, the House and Senate both overruled the objections. The confirmation was completed before dawn this morning, marking the final step in the 2020 presidential election before Inauguration Day on January 20.
