Chinese spacecraft returns with lunar samples

China’s Chang’e 5 spacecraft successfully returned to Earth with moon samples yesterday. China is the third nation in history to retrieve lunar samples (joining the US and the former Soviet Union) and the first to do so since the 1970s. The samples will now be analyzed to develop a better understanding of the moon’s history and composition.
