BNY Mellon announced plans to launch a cryptocurrency and digital asset platform yesterday. The announcement comes amid growing corporate and institutional adoption of cryptocurrencies (e.g. Bitcoin), including recent announcements from Mastercard and Tesla as well as Paypal’s launch of a crypto-focused platform last year.
Extra: The price of bitcoin reached nearly $48k yesterday, marking a 66% increase so far this year and a 4x increase since last February.
