Biden administration announces vaccine distribution plan for pharmacies

The Biden administration announced plans to distribute coronavirus vaccines directly to pharmacies around the country. The program will initially begin with 1M vaccines sent to 6,500 pharmacies next week and will ultimately aim to reach over 40k pharmacies across the country. It will supplement the existing pipeline of vaccines being sent directly to states (10M per week, increasing to 10.5M next week). The initiative was driven in part by a desire to provide equitable vaccine access in medically underserved areas.
