Biden administration increases refugee caps

The Biden administration announced plans to increase the 2021 refugee cap from 15,000 to 62,500, citing humanitarian concerns and noting that the increase is “otherwise in the national interest.” The revised limits include 23k from Asia, 22k from Africa, 5k from Latin America and the Caribbean, and 12.5k of unallocated reserves.
