Attorney General Barr said yesterday that he appointed US Attorney John Durham as “special counsel” in the ongoing investigation into the origins of the FBI’s investigation of alleged ties between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. The designation (granted in October) gives Durham additional authorities and protections in the investigation.
