Apple released a software update yesterday that requires apps to have users opt into certain kinds of tracking. The widely-publicized new feature (called App Tracking Transparency and included in the iOS 14.5 update) has faced criticism from companies that use tracking for ad targeting and other purposes (i.e. Facebook).
